Congresswoman Plaskett Speaks Out for Fair Shipping for the USVI

1017005_10151578640496603_1492762178_nRecently elected Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett seized an opportunity to relay concerns of territory citizens Tuesday.  The congresswoman questioned representatives of the United States Postal Service (USPS), Federal Express (FedEx), Amazon and more, regarding St. Croix and the other U.S. Virgin Islands being treated as international shipping destinations.

USVI residents sometime experience the inability to have items shipped directly to them by companies and individuals.  Common problems are items arriving on an elongated timeline or incurring additional shipping costs.  Back-up options exist with third-party freight forwarding companies like VI Cargo and Paradise Freight.  These forwarders have locations in south Florida which utilize large cargo ships.
