When you have a sweet tooth or simply a craving, the offerings on the island of St. Croix won’t leave you wanting.  From east to west there are awesome desserts at a number of restaurants and bakeries.

Cafe Christine

Buried in Apothecary Courtyard in Christiansted is Cafe Christine.  While famed French Chef Christine retired, she passed along her famous recipes to the current owners of the restaurant.  People literally claim pieces of pie when they call in their lunch reservation because they are snapped up so quickly.  All the pies are delicious, but the chocolate pear is a favorite.

Rowdy Joe’s Northshore Eatery

If you drive a couple minutes east of Cane Bay beach on St. Croix’s north shore, you’ll find Rowdy Joe’s.  A simple restaurant with a chalkboard menu of items they make really well.  Despite delicious appetizers and entrees, the highlight for many diners is the homemade ice cream.  Offered in three to five flavors varying daily and often playing off fruits that are ripe locally (like mango), each are rich and made for sharing.

Galangal

Undoubtedly the fanciest restaurant on St. Croix with an elaborate interior, Galangal Thai restaurant in Christiansted continues to impress patrons through the dessert course.  Well known for their flourless chocolate cake accompanied by gelato, they also offer delicious creme brulee.  Ask the restaurant’s Co-Owner and Bartender Gregory for a dessert cocktail or port wine to perfectly accompany your selection.

Blue Water Terrace

On St. Croix’s east end in the Cotton Valley area, you’ll find Blue Water Terrace restaurant and market looking directly at Buck Island.  Co-Owner and Chef Lori is famous for her sweet and generously-portioned desserts.  Favorites includes pecan pie and chocolate chip cookies.

Pastry Hut

Located on St. Croix’s west end on Queen Mary Highway in the Estate Carlton area, Pastry Hut is always crowded with local customers seeking fresh baked donuts and desserts.
