Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth on St. Croix

When a craving for sweets strikes your fancy, here are a couple of places local people visit on St. Croix:

Pastry Hut

One of the only places on-island to find fresh baked donuts daily is The Pastry Hut.  It can be found on Queen Mary Highway / Centerline Road, near Sunshine Mall and Kmart West.  Their pastry cases are brimming with cookies, cupcakes and more.  They are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.  They may be reached by phone at 340.772-2465.

Steele’s Smokes & Sweets

Married loves of sweets and cigars are what Mary Ann and Jeff Seroogy have done with their shop, Steele’s Smokes & Sweets.  It can be found in Christiansted, just off Strand Street and close to its intersection with Prince.  Expect to find fresh-made, delicious fudge along with truffles, chocolate bark, meltaways and more. Making chocolate is Seroogy Family tradition, headquartered in Wisconsin.  The small storefront is now adjacent to Nelthropp & Low jewelry store, as the larger location in the Pan Am Pavilion unfortunately burned in recent years.

Misc. Restaurants

On St. Croix we also like to drink our dessert, so try a mudslide or bushwhacker at a local bar.
