Tom Sedar has been diving the waters around St. Croix for more than 40 years.  As an avid diver and talented photographer, it only made sense for him to combine his passions into one: underwater photography.

Sedar’s business is called Sea Dog Pictures. He jokes that he is addicted to compressed air, which the sale of his photographs helps him bankroll.  His SmugMug site can be viewed here: http://www.seadogpics.com/.  Sedar uses an Olympus 500e camera with an Ikelite housing and strobe.

As an underwater photographer, Sedar shoots private events like underwater weddings.  But for the most part, he just captures the incredible sea life in the crystal clear Caribbean Sea surrounding St. Croix.  Between October 2008 and 2009, he photographed and cataloged 168 species of coral, sponges, fish, crab, lobster, etc.

Along with his wife Charlene, Sedar adamantly enjoys island life, as documented in their blog: http://tom-itchyfeet.blogspot.com/.
